The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is undergoing a significant leadership transition as Professor Peter Shergold AC steps down from his role as Board Chair. Professor Shergold has been an integral part of CSI since its inception, contributing immensely to its establishment as Australia’s leading provider of social impact research and education. His visionary leadership has been instrumental in building a collaborative network across multiple universities and advancing social impact knowledge and practice nationwide.
Under Professor Shergold’s guidance, CSI has empowered leaders, organisations, and communities to drive system-level transformations and create lasting social change. Reflecting on his tenure, CSI’s Acting CEO Dr Lyndsey McKee expressed deep gratitude for his contributions, highlighting his unwavering commitment to advancing social progress within and across sectors.
As CSI bids farewell to Professor Shergold, they welcome Greg Hutchinson AM as the new Board Chair. Mr. Hutchinson, a long-term supporter of CSI, played a crucial role in its foundation and development. Mr. Hutchinson’s extensive background includes leadership roles at Bain & Company, founding roles at Workplace Giving Australia and Goodstart Early Learning, and significant contributions to various for-purpose organisations. His business acumen and commitment to social impact make him an ideal successor to continue CSI’s mission.
