Reconciliation Week 27 May – 3 June 2024
Today marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week in Australia. A time for our nation to reflect on our shared histories, cultures, and achievements as Australians.
At Greatest Good, we love to shine a spotlight on people and organisations who are dedicated to redressing social injustices, so Reconciliation Week holds a special significance in our hearts.
The dates for Reconciliation Week are the same each year: 27 May – commemorating the successful 1967 referendum giving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples the right to vote; to 3 June - the date of the Mabo decision where the High Court of Australia recognised native title. Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people across Australia host a range of activities and events during National Reconciliation Week (NRW). Now more than ever we need truth-telling, connection, respect, action and change. Now more than ever we need reconciliation.
